Across Oceans, Time Zones, Languages, and Bacterial Membranes: A Transdisciplinary Collaboration on Pilus Assembly and Bacterial Secretion
During a spring 2015 IMéRA-sponsored sojourn, I will address three specific aims.
1. Strengthen a collaborative and ongoing interdisciplinary research project with Dr. Romé Voulhoux on interactions of bacterial Type IV pilus and Type II secretion proteins.
2. Lay the foundation for expanded international collaborative relationship between Aix Marseilles University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
3. Participate fully in the rich scholarly environment of IMéRA, contributing to the investigations of other fellows and hopefully having a few unplanned insights for my own research program.
biographie
Katrina T. Forest est professeur de bactériologie au département de bactériologie de l'Université du Wisconsin-Madison. Elle est titulaire d'un doctorat de l'Université de Princeton (1993). Ses recherches s’inscrivent dans le champ de la biologie structurale de la pathogenèse, et elle enseigne la microbiologie.
En 2015, elle a été résidente à l’American Academy of Microbiology.
