Image on a book: Silicene Through the Looking-Glass (ISibook) - Novel materials in Flatland
Objectives: (1) Fundamental studies of low dimensional structures in connection with the research group at the PIIM-CNRS Laboratory: Prof. Jean-Marc Layet, Prof. Thierry Angot, Prof. Guy Le Lay and Dr Eric Salomon. Societal aspects of Nanoscience in a futuristic perspective. (2) Image on a chip: Silicene Through the Looking-Glass is a design of 1D and 2D nanostructures for the realization of an artistic book image-per-image, possibly a video, illustrating artistically microscopic observations, with a vision on future developments and societal impacts. (3) Organizing an International Multidisciplinary Workshop “FLATLAND” (le Plat Pays) at the IMERA from a large cultural point of view.
The leading idea is the reduced dimensionalities scrutinized under several view points by leading Scientists (in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics), Scholars (in aesthetics, history, philosophy, fine arts) and conceptual Artists.
