Determinants of Personal Networks

The background of our project is to relate and connect the three basic traditions of social network research: broad scale networks, social sclae networks research, and ego centered networks research. The essential aim is to connect these tradtions of network research with the issue of the personal determinants and the quality of relations, and with the study of the time patterns of relationship maintenance.
Researchers in psychology are interested in how the variations of the Ego centered layers of connections are related to differences in cognitive abilities such as memory, to personality and to psychopathology.
