Conférence de Claude Wendell Horton
"Professor Wendell Horton's research at the University of Texas at Austin is devoted to the problem of achieving thermonuclear fusion in the laboratory. During the 1980ies Horton made numerous trips to the Soviet Union, and in the 1990ies he was leader of the US-Japan Joint Institute for Fusion Theory. In the 1990ies Horton's research turned toward space plasma physics and as an Adjunct Professor at Rice University built a space physics group. From this experience Horton has published books on nonlinear plasma physics with the new book appearing on urbulent Transport in Magnetized Plasmas. He has authored over 350 original research papers and received numerous research grants in space and fusion plasma physics. Currently he is Senior Fellow at IMéRA (Aix-Marseille University) working on these problems with scientists at the St. Jerome campus of AMU and at the Cadarache laboratory for nuclear fusion research."
